Everything About A Website: QuarkBase.com
Courtesy of a friend on Twitter @gregfinn I discovered a pretty useful little site called QuarkBase.com.

Now, there is nothing earth shattering here, much of the information you can get from Alexa and other sites. The nice thing is though that you are presented with just about everything you may be looking for about a particular site in one spot, on one page.
Of particular interest is the absolute last item on the page, the hosting section. Why is this interesting? This allows you to see who ACTUALLY is hosting your site. You may think that the company you are paying is actually physically in charge of the servers you are hosted on, but many times (and this isn’t necessarily bad) they are reselling another service. For instance my blog hosting is through BlueFur.com. They have a great service all around, to my surprise they appear to be using iWeb Technologies out of Montreal. Again that doesn’t make there service any less attractive. There is more to a hosting service than the actual hosting :).
Enjoy exploring the details of some of your favorite sites!
