What’s The Worst That Could Happen…
Trying is your first step towards either success or failure. Your perseverance will determine the result.
Failure in my book is either not trying or trying and then quitting at the first negative result. Take my interview with Curt Schilling this month. The most common question/comment I received was “wow, how did you manage to get that interview?”. The answer is simple, I asked for it.
I had never previously met nor spoke to Curt Schilling. I simply sent his 38 Studios company an email requesting as interview with Curt. And I got it. It is amazing what you can do if you just put the worry of failure aside and take the plunge. I mean what was the worst that could happen? Likely the worst would have been never receiving any response or simply receiving a note that he did not want to do the interview.
I did not let that stop me from requesting the interview. Within a week I completed the exclusive interview with Schilling, increased my site traffic, and most importantly brought something unique to the table for my existing readership.
Always remember, continued success comes to those who are actively pushing themselves to work outside of their comfort zone.
